Charles Pic posts fastest time in Belgian Grand Prix practice |

SPA, Belgium (AP) -- French newcomer Charles Pic had the fastest time in Friday's second practice session at the Belgian Grand Prix, although none of the drivers posted a competitive lap as rain drenched the Spa circuit.
The 22-year-old Marussia driver had the best time of 2 minutes, 49.354 seconds. Six drivers - including Red Bull's Mark Webber - preferred not to go out in treacherous conditions.
In rainy conditions in the first practice, Japanese driver Kamui Kobayashi had the fastest time in 2:11.389. Championship leader Fernando Alonso again preferred to stay in the Ferrari garage, while defending champion Sebastian Vettel finished ninth.
Weather conditions are expected to improve for practice and qualifying on Saturday.
