BARCELONA, Spain (AP) -- Jorge Lorenzo of Spain won the Catalunya Grand Prix on Sunday, denying defending Moto GP champion Casey Stoner a seventh straight victory from pole position and extending his overall lead.

Lorenzo overtook Pedrosa for the final time to win by five seconds and extend his series lead to 20 points ahead of second-place Stoner after five races. Pedrosa is 30 points behind Lorenzo.

Andrea Dovizioso of Italy finished third in front of Stoner, who is expected to retire at the end of the season with Honda.

Cal Crutchlow of Britain was fifth, followed by Spain's Alvaro Bautista and Italy's Valentino Rossi.

The next race is the British GP on June 17.

In the Moto2 category, Andrea Iannone of Italy finished in front of Thomas Luthi of Switzerland.
