CHARLOTTE, N.C. (AP) - The CEO of an independent oil and gas company has acquired Inception Racing and vows his new NASCAR team will race all next season.

Brandon Davis will field the No. 30 Toyota for rebranded Swan Racing in the Sprint Cup Series. David Stremme will drive the car, but Davis wants Stremme to actually complete the races in 2013.

When Stremme drove the car for Inception last season, the team was a "start and park'' and intentionally did not finish races in favor of picking up a quick paycheck.

Davis, the CEO of Swan Energy, said he entered NASCAR to be competitive and is determined to build a competitive race team. He has hired veteran Steve Hmiel as director of competition.
