LONDON (AP) -- Defender Dan Potts has been called up by England for the first time for its under-18 exhibition match against Poland on March 7 after previously attending a U.S. under-20 camp.

The 17-year-old left back, who made his debut in December for the second-tier English club West Ham, qualifies for the U.S. through his Connecticut-born father but could now be pledging his allegiance to England.

Potts has made four first-team appearances this season for West Ham.
