BERGAMO, Italy (AP) -- Inter Milan players Javier Zanetti and Andrea Ranocchia were among the thousands of people to pay their respects to Piermario Morosini during a public viewing Wednesday in a church in his hometown.

Morosini collapsed and died after suffering a cardiac arrest during Livorno's match at Pescara on Saturday. He was 25.

Atalanta general director Roberto Spagnolo, youth team coach Fabio Gallo and former president Alessandro Ruggeri were among those who paid their respects to Morosini, who started his career with the hometown club. The Brescia squad also paid their respects.

More than 20,000 fans are expected to watch Morosini's funeral on Thursday on three giant screens set up nearby.

Players and representatives from Livorno, Udinese, Atalanta and Pescara will attend the funeral.
