LISBON, Portugal (AP) -- Doctors treating Eusebio say the Portuguese soccer great suffered a stroke at the European Championship and will remain in a Lisbon hospital for treatment.

The 70-year-old Eusebio felt sick last Saturday night and was admitted to a hospital in Poland near Portugal's Euro 2012 training camp.

He returned to the Portuguese capital four days later and was placed in intensive care.

Doctors at Lisbon's Hospital da Luz said Friday that tests revealed Eusebio had suffered a stroke. They said he was stable and lucid.

Eusebio has been hospitalized four times since December with a variety of ailments.
