LISBON (AP) -- Benfica was held to a 2-2 draw at Academica on Sunday, leaving it two points behind Portuguese leader FC Porto.

Striker Salim Cisse gave a 10-man Academica the lead with a penalty in the 26th minute after Maxi Pereira fouled Makelele in the area.

Academica's Rodrigo Galo was sent off for a hand ball in the 50th and Benfica's Oscar Cardozo equalized from the resulting spot kick.

Wilson Eduardo put the hosts back in front with another penalty in the 70th following Ezequiel Garay's foul of Helder Cabral, but substitute Lima netted four minutes from fulltime to salvage Benfica a point.

It was Benfica's first league match without Javi Garcia and Axel Witsel, both sold in the offseason. Benfica drew 0-0 at Celtic in their Champions League opener midweek.
