Portugal: Leader Benfica rallies past Beira Mar
LISBON, Portugal (AP) -- Portuguese leader Benfica came from behind to beat last-place Beira Mar 2-1 on Saturday, with forward Rodrigo Moreno atoning for a missed penalty by scoring the winner.
Midfielder Vicent Sasso scored with a header four minutes in to give visiting Beira Mar the lead.
Rodrigo had a chance to level in the 44th, but the former Real Madrid youth player missed his spot kick after Maxi Pereira had been fouled in the area.
But Pereira scored in the 58th to pull Benfica even, and Rodrigo added another goal two minutes later from a pass by Lima.
Sunday, FC Porto beat struggling 10-man Sporting Lisbon 2-0, with goals by Colombian duo Jackson Martinez and James Rodriguez keeping the titleholders level with Portuguese leader Benfica.
Martinez opened the scoring 10 minutes in from a pass by Danilo.
After Porto's Lucho Gonzalez missed a penalty, Marcos Rojo left Sporting with 10 men from the 72nd when he received his second booking.
Rodriguez capped the win in the 84th with a spot kick after Sporting defender Khalid Boulahrouz fouled Martinez in the area.
Sporting, which has just one win in six rounds this season, fired coach Ricardo Sa Pinto on Friday.
