WARSAW, Poland (AP) -- A World Cup qualifier between Poland and England has been postponed until Wednesday because of a waterlogged field in Warsaw.

Heavy rain before Tuesday's game left large pools of water across the field at National Stadium.

Stadium officials chose to not close the retractable roof despite forecasts of heavy rain. Representatives from soccer's governing body made the postponement after inspecting the field twice.

England is looking to add to its three-point lead in Group A. Poland can pull even at seven points with a victory.

The game will be played at 5 p.m. local time.
