SAO PAULO (AP) -- FIFA President Sepp Blatter took some time off preparations for the Confederations Cup draw to visit football great Pele, who is recovering from hip surgery in Sao Paulo.

Blatter visited Pele at the former player's home on Friday, saying "it is always very special to meet Pele the king and discuss football with him.''

Blatter said he also updated Pele on Brazil's preparations for the Confederations Cup and the 2014 World Cup.

A 2014 World Cup ambassador, Pele will miss Saturday's draw for the Confederations Cup because of the surgery successfully underwent about two weeks ago in Sao Paulo.

Pele said his "heart will be at the draw.''
