Hamburg to let striker Mladen Petric go

HAMBURG, Germany (AP) -Hamburger SV says it will let striker Mladen Petric leave when his contract expires at the end of the season.

Hamburg sporting director Frank Arnesen says he wants to bring in younger players and reduce salary costs.

The 31-year-old Petric has scored 60 goals in 127 matches for Hamburg. He says he is looking for another long-term contract, "which was not possible in Hamburg.''
