CHICAGO (AP) - The U.S. men's and women's soccer teams are going to red and white horizontal stripes for their home jerseys.

The U.S. Soccer Federation announced the change Monday, saying the jerseys will have blue collars and are inspired by the American flag.

This will be the first time the men and the women use the same design for home jerseys since Nike became the USSF's supplier after the 1994 men's World Cup.

The jerseys will retain the tonal sash used in the men's jersey since 2010, which echoes the design of the team's 1950 World Cup uniform.

The men's jersey will be available April 26 and the women's jersey on July 1.
