PARIS (AP) -Winger Julien Feret scored once and set up another goal as Rennes beat struggling Nice 3-1 on Monday to move into fifth place in the French league, boosting its chances of qualifying for the Europa League.

Feret put Rennes ahead in the 23rd minute with a low shot, and midfielder Tongo Doumbia headed in from Feret's free kick only moments before the interval.

Nice right back Francois Clerc scored his fourth goal of the season with a strike from 20 yards in the 59th, but forward Jonathan Pitroipa made the game safe late on.

Two more games from the 32nd round are scheduled for Wednesday. League Cup winner Marseille faces Caen and Toulouse plays Lyon.

Leader Montpellier is two points ahead of Paris Saint-Germain with six rounds remaining.
