Catania and Palermo draw 1-1 in Sicilian derby

ROME (AP) -Catania drew 1-1 at Palermo in a Sicilian derby on Saturday, while Cagliari and Chievo Verona played to a 0-0 draw.

Former Juventus defender Nicola Legrottaglie put Catania ahead in the 25th minute with a close-range header and Palermo captain Fabrizio Miccoli equalized in the 47th by finishing off a counterattack.

Catania remained eighth, Chievo moved into a tie for ninth, and Palermo moved into a tie for 13th with Bologna and Cagliari.

Later, Napoli was at Roma hoping to take over third place and the final Champions League spot.

On Sunday, Juventus looks to protect its three-point lead over AC Milan at Novara, while Milan visits Siena.
