FC Dallas signs midfielder Marcelin

FRISCO, Texas (AP) - FC Dallas signed midfielder James Marcelin on Friday. Terms of the deal weren't disclosed.

Born in Haiti, Marcelin joined the Portland Timbers in 2010 and was with the club for its transition to Major League Soccer in 2011. Marcelin appeared in 22 USL games with the Timbers in 2010 and played 12 games for the expansion side in its inaugural MLS season.

Prior to signing with Timbers, Marcelin spent two seasons with the Puerto Rico Islanders.
