Eusebio expected to leave hospital on Thursday
OPALENICA, Poland (AP) -Former Portugal great Eusebio is expected to remain in a hospital in Poland until Thursday.
The 70-year-old was admitted to a hospital in Poznan late Saturday after a heart attack scare. Doctors performed a coronary catheterization which determined that he had not suffered a heart attack, but was merely complications from general poor health.
Hospital spokesman Stanislaw Rusek says doctors have decided to keep Eusebio on until Thursday. The current plan is then for the former Benfica star to return to Portugal on a specially chartered flight.
Rusek said Monday that Eusebio's "condition is stable, but his general health is not good.''
This is the fourth time since December that Eusebio has been admitted to hospital.
