Urawa Reds beat J-League leaders Hiroshima 2-0

SAITAMA, Japan (AP) -Urawa Reds beat Sanfrecce Hiroshima 2-0 on Saturday to reduce Sanfrecce's lead in the J-League standings to just one point over Vegalta Sendai with two matches remaining.

Tsukasa Umesaki scored in the first half at Saitama Stadium and Keita Suzuki doubled the lead after the break as third place Urawa improved to 52 points.

Sanfrecce's loss, coupled with Vegalta's 3-3 draw with Kashima Antlers, saw Hiroshima remain on 58 points, one ahead of Sendai.

Sendai built up a 3-1 lead with two first-half goals by Shingo Akamine and another from Brazilian Wilson, but Shinzo Kuroki and Yuya Osako equalized in the second half for Kashima.

In other matches, Kashiwa Reysol beat Yokohama F Marinos 2-1, while Nagoya Grampus beat Jubilo Iwata 2-0. Kawasaki Frontale edged Albirex Niigata 1-0.
