GLASGOW, Scotland (AP) -Motherwell thrashed Inverness 5-1 to climb to fourth place in the Scottish Premier League on Sunday, just four points off leader Celtic.

The visitors had five different scorers in the Highlands, with Michael Higdon and Jamie Murphy putting them 2-0 up by halftime.

Richie Foran reduced the deficit in the 46th for Inverness, which could have gone third with a victory, but any hopes of a fightback were ended by goals from Adam Cummins, Henrik Ojamaa and Omar Daley.

Celtic beat Aberdeen 2-0 on Saturday to stay in first place by a point from Hibernian, with the champions still having a game in hand.
