Greece captain Katsouranis signs for PAOK
THESSALONIKI, Greece (AP) -Greece captain Costas Katsouranis has signed an 18-month deal with PAOK Thessaloniki, five weeks after being fired by Panathinaikos.
Katsouranis' new club on Tuesday announced the agreement with the 33-year-old midfielder, but did not disclose financial terms.
PAOK is second in Greece's 16-team topflight league with 28 points from 14 matches, eight points behind leader Olympiakos.
Katsourakis is a veteran of Greece's winning 2004 European Championship team, and made his 100th appearance for the national team in October in a 2014 World Cup qualifier against Slovakia.
Greece coach Fernando Santos had warned that he would drop Katsouranis if he remained without a team.
