CLEVELAND (AP) - The Indians signed free agent outfielder Jeremy Hermida and catcher Omir Santos to minor league contracts.

Hermida spent last season with San Diego, splitting time between the Padres and their Triple-A affiliate. The 29-year-old has a career .257 average, 65 homers and 250 RBIs with Florida, Boston, Oakland, Cincinnati and San Diego. Hermida was limited to less than 60 combined games last season because of injuries.

The 31-year-old Santos split last season with Detroit and Colorado. He batted a combined .310 with two homers and 30 RBIs in 61 games between Triple-A Toledo and Triple-A Colorado Springs.

Santos, who has played in 121 major league games since 2008, was called up by the Tigers last May and played in three games.

He appeared in 96 games for the New York Mets in 2009, batting .260 with seven homers and 40 RBIs. Santos was drafted by the Yankees in 2001.

Santos will be one of six catchers in Cleveland's training camp at Goodyear, Ariz.

The Indians will have 61 players in their major league camp next month, including 21 non-roster invitees.
