Phillies' Brown recognizes Powerball-winning store
PHILADELPHIA (AP) - Phillies outfielder Domonic Brown is plenty familiar with the Florida store that sold this weekend's huge Powerball-winning ticket.
Brown is from Zephyrhills, Fla., where someone bought the lucky ticket worth an estimated $590.5 million.
Brown says he has shopped at the Publix supermarket where the winning numbers were sold.
The winner has not yet come forward to claim the prize, and Brown says he plans to phone relatives in his hometown to get some updates. Zephyrhills has a population of around 13,000 and is about 30 miles northeast of Tampa.
"I just heard it this morning, it's pretty cool,'' Brown said Sunday after Philadelphia beat Cincinnati 3-2.
