ATLANTA (AP) - Jason Heyward has left the Braves' game against the Reds with an apparent injury.

Heyward, who reached on a throwing error by first baseman Joey Votto, advanced to third on Justin Upton's infield hit. Heyward was running from second base when he appeared to make a last-second decision to slide into third.

Heyward was safe on the play but remained on the ground at third base before finally rising to his feet and walking off the field, accompanied by manager Fredi Gonzalez. Reed Johnson replaced Heyward as a pinch-runner.

The Braves had no immediate report on Heyward's status.
