Juwan Howard has signed a 10-day contract to return to the Miami Heat.

The 40-year-old Howard will be entering his 19th NBA season, the past two were spent with Miami. The Heat elected not to sign Howard before this season's training camp, though as far back as September, Miami coach Erik Spoelstra said the reigning NBA champions would consider bringing the veteran forward back at some point.

With an open roster spot, and with the team about to enter a stretch where it will play 17 times in 29 days, the Heat decided that Saturday was the right time to bring him back.

Howard had said that if he played this season, he would only want to do so with Miami.
