Jilted Magic fans ready for Howard's homecoming
ORLANDO, Fla. (AP) - Last season Dwight Howard took the Orlando Magic through a turbulent, daily soap opera that ended with him becoming the second star in franchise history to depart and join the Los Angeles Lakers.
Jilted Magic fans, front office members and a handful of former teammates prepare to welcome him back to Orlando for the first time Tuesday in a game the Lakers need to stay in position to make the Western Conference playoff field.
Howard apologized this week for his role in last season's drama with the Magic, and says he's ready for a bitter reception.
Orlando is well out of the playoff hunt in its first year without Howard, but did stun the revamped Lakers on the road back in December.
