BALTIMORE (AP) - Jacob Iati scored 14 points and 10 Albany teammates scored as the Great Danes crushed Maryland-Baltimore County 79-56 Wednesday night in an America East mismatch.

The Great Danes (18-7, 7-4) opened the game on a 20-5 run and built that into a 36-19 halftime lead. The Retrievers (6-7, 4-6), who were coming off a one-point conference win over Maine, were never in this one. Especially after making just one field goal in the first 11 minutes and Albany opening the second half on a 25-10 run to lead 61-29.

Iati, whose 14 points included four treys, got double-figure scoring help from D.J. Evans and Peter Hooley, who scored 10 apiece. Hooley also had eight rebounds and dished out six assists.

UMBC had two players finish in double figures. Chase Plummer scored 15 points and Brian Neller netted 12 on four treys.

Albany outscored UMBC 34-15 in bench scoring.
