SYRACUSE, N.Y. (AP) - Rutgers coach C. Vivian Stringer takes her Scarlet Knights on the road Tuesday night against No. 21 Syracuse looking for that elusive 900th career victory.

The Hall of Fame coach is looking to join Pat Summitt, Jody Conradt and Sylvia Hatchell, who reached the mark last week. Only three Division I men's coaches have reached 900 victories - Mike Krzyzewski, Bob Knight and Jim Boeheim.

Rutgers played a spirited first half against third-ranked Connecticut on Saturday before losing to the Huskies 65-45. The loss was the second straight for the Scarlet Knights since Stringer earned her 899th career victory against Cincinnati.

The Scarlet Knights have beaten Syracuse three straight times, but the Orange are unbeaten in 11 games at home and in the midst of the best season in program history.
