CHARLOTTE, N.C. (AP) - Mark Weinman, the 50-year-old from New York who recently returned to the ring after a 21-year absence, was stopped in the first round by Jahaad Wingfield of Tampa, Fla.

The fight was stopped by referee Donnie Jessup at 2:04 of the first round with Weinman pinned against the ropes but appearing to slip most of Wingfield's punches.

Weinman (12-4-0) resumed his career with a victory last Sept. 7, setting the record for the longest time between fights for a professional boxer.
