It's impossible to know where to begin after that weekend of playoff football. While Niners quarterback
Colin Kaepernick put on a show Saturday night and the Patriots dismissed the Texans in typical Patriots fashion Sunday, it was Ravens-Broncos and Seahawks-Falcons that will remembered as classics. We'll start with Atlanta's last-second win over Seattle. Falcons tight end
Tony Gonzalez had
one of the more impressive one-yard touchdown catches you'll ever see, caught the pass that led to the game-winning field goal, and
bawled his eyes out after winning a playoff game for the first time in his 16-year career. Not a bad day at the office. Fox analyst
Brian Billick, however, had a very bad day at the office. With 44 seconds left and Seattle down by six, Billick
suggested the Seahawks could kick a field goal and then try an onside kick. That was easily the most bizarre thing said on a broadcast this season -- and maybe ever. Billick also had trouble
figuring out which team won the game. As we all know, Atlanta won the game, because Seahawks coach
Pete Carroll tried the icing the kicker crap and it backfired after
Matt Bryant missed his original kick, but nailed the 49-yarder for the victory on his second try.
Obviously, you can blame the Broncos secondary for giving up
a ridiculous game-tying 70-yard touchdown with 31 seconds left or Broncos quarterback
Peyton Manning for throwing a
Brett Favre-like interception in overtime in Denver's double-overtime lost to Baltimore. However, nobody had a worse weekend than Denver coach
John Fox. First, he had Manning take a knee with 36 seconds left and three timeouts in the first half. Then, he had Manning take a knee with 30 seconds left and two timeouts at the end of regulation when all his team needed was a field goal to win. He actually made the incompetent refs who worked that game look intelligent.
CBS analyst
Phil Simms had no idea what the score was toward the end of the Texans-Patriots game... Falcons running back
Jacquizz Rodgers had the run of the weekend. ... Patriots linebacker
Brandon Spikes had
the celebration of the weekend. ... Ravens defensive lineman
Paul Kruger used
Tim Tebow to taunt the Broncos via Twitter after the game.
