AP Sources: Cavaliers' Lazor to join Eagles staff

People familiar with the situation say offensive coordinator Bill Lazor is leaving Virginia to join the Philadelphia Eagles.

The people said Tuesday that Lazor said he will join Chip Kelly's staff. The people spoke to The Associated Press on condition of anonymity because no formal announcement has been made by the university or the Eagles.

Lazor's departure was first reported by CBSSports.com.

His the fifth assistant to leave the Cavaliers' staff this offseason. Four coaches were fired Dec. 2 after Virginia finished the season 4-8.

Lazor has NFL experience as a quarterbacks coach with the Seattle Seahawks and Washington Redskins. He also worked for the Atlanta Falcons.

He joined the Virginia staff in 2010.
