BATON ROUGE, La. (AP) - Les Miles says LSU has succeeded in bringing in a recruiting class that addresses some of the Tigers' biggest needs following the loss of 10 regulars who left early for the NFL draft.

The biggest name on the list is Tashawn Bower, a 6-foot-5, 241-pound defensive end from New Jersey.

Bower was widely believed to be leaning toward Auburn or Florida, but instead comes to Baton Rouge, where he'll be expected to step in right away to help fill the void left by the decision of juniors ends Sam Montgomery and Barkevious Mingo to turn pro.

Another top recruit is 6-3, 225-pound linebacker Kendell Beckwith, an All-State player in Louisiana.

In an unusual twist, most recruits are from outside Louisiana, with a total of 15 from out of state.
