Sun Devils need to regroup quickly
TEMPE, Ariz. (AP) - Facing what was considered a measuring-stick game, Arizona State fell flat against No. 5 Stanford.
Plagued by a stumbling start, missed assignments and a horrendous day on special teams, the Sun Devils lost 42-28 to the Cardinal on Saturday.
Arizona State managed to score three fourth-quarter touchdowns to make the score a bit more respectable, but has a lot of work to do before facing Southern California.
The Trojans aren't quite the offensive juggernaut they once were, but have a stingy defense and star receiver Marqise Lee.
Arizona State has plenty of areas to clean up before playing USC on Saturday, particularly on special teams after allowing two punts to be blocked.
