Bills WR Goodwin hurts left eye against Lions
ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. (AP) - Buffalo Bills rookie receiver Marquise Goodwin was escorted to the locker room after being poked in the left eye while attempting to make a catch in a preseason game against the Detroit Lions on Thursday night.
Goodwin was hurt late in the first quarter when he stumbled and then went head-first trying to make a deep catch up the right sideline. The ball went off his hands, and he fell to the turf.
Goodwin was treated on the field and was slow to get up.
Goodwin, Buffalo's third-round pick out of Texas, is in the mix to earn one of the team's top-four receiving spots.
The Bills said he would not return.
