Panthers thrilled for chance to play again
LIGHTHOUSE POINT, Fla. (AP) - The Florida Panthers packed up their temporary locker room on Wednesday, set to make the short move back to their usual training facility.
Finally, the reigning Southeast Division champions are going back to real work.
There might not be many teams more eager for this delayed and shortened NHL season to start than the Panthers, who ended a 12-year playoff drought last spring and bring back virtually every key part of that team. Many Panthers were working out and skating together in South Florida throughout the lockout, which might make the acclimation back to real play somewhat smooth.
