SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (AP) - Four days after he suffered a seizure on the ice after a hit, the family of American Hockey League left wing Wade MacLeod says the Springfield Falcons player has a benign tumor.

"A CT scan performed on Wade resulted in the discovery of a benign mass,'' the family said in a statement on Thursday. "He will be undergoing further examination to determine the appropriate treatment.''

The 26-year-old, who is in his third season playing for the Columbus Blue Jackets' affiliate, went down after was he was hit by Adirondack defenseman Brandon Manning, who was whistled for boarding. MacLeod later collapsed and was taken to a nearby hospital. The game was postponed.

MacLeod has four goals and seven assists in 20 games this season for the Falcons.
