NEW YORK (AP) - Rubysandpearls won the $73,500 Java Gold Stakes, holding off The Truth and K G by a half-length Sunday when racing resumed at Aqueduct.

Chris DeCarlo guided the gelding trained by David Jacobson to a front-running victory, his third in six starts. The time was 1:09.88 for the six furlongs in the race for 3-year-olds.

This was the first card at Aqueduct after a winter storm wiped out the Friday and Saturday programs.

Rubysandpearls paid $10.80, $3.70 and $5.10. The Truth and K G returned $3.50 and $3.50 while West Hills Giant paid $5.30.
