Irsaal wins muddy Belmont feature

NEW YORK (AP) - Irsaal rallied four-wide in the mud to beat Midnight Taboo by two lengths Wednesday in the $77,000 allowance feature for 3-year-olds at Belmont Park.

Last in the field of six rounding the turn, Irsaal kicked home strongly for his second win in eight starts. Irad Ortiz, Jr. was aboard for trainer Kiaran McLaughlin as the gray gelding paid $10.60, $5.90 and $3.50.

The time was 1:43.15 for the 1 1-16 miles.

Midnight Taboo, blocked several times in the lane, finally got through for second, returning $6 and $3.70. Doherty paid $2.90 to show.
