Jockey Joel Rosario wins another stakes at Belmont
NEW YORK (AP) - Kentucky Derby-winning jockey Joel Rosario won another stakes at Belmont Park on Friday, guiding Miss Valentine to victory in the $90,000 No Reason.
Rosario rode Orb last weekend in the Derby and captured Belmont's $85,000 Corma Ray Stakes on Thursday with Mine Over Matter. He was aboard the favorites in all three races.
Miss Valentine was the 6-5 choice in the race for New York bred fillies and mares. She beat Clear Pasaj by a half length, completing the mile in 1:37.53. The 5-year-old, trained by Christophe Clement, has won three races in a row, all state-bred stakes races.
The winner paid $4.70, $3.10 and $2.20. Clear Pasaj returned $4.90 and $3.40 while Lady On The Run showed at $3.10.
