Effie, Rosie team to win Diamondrella Stakes

NEW YORK (AP) - Effie Trinket and jockey Rosie Napravnik rallied to beat Bella Castani, the even-money favorite, by 11/4 lengths on Sunday in the $100,000 Diamondrella Stakes for 3-year-old fillies on the turf at Belmont Park.

It was the second straight victory and fourth in seven starts for Effie Trinket, who is trained by Rick Violette. She paid $11.60, $4.60 and $3.50.

The time was 1:21.23 for 7 furlongs over a firm course.

Bella Castani returned $3.10 and $2.20. Fab Flowers paid $4.80 to show.
