Sunday Rules wins stakes at Del Mar

DEL MAR, Calif. (AP) - Sunday Rules took command down the backstretch and cruised to an 8 1/2-length victory in the $150,000 Generous Portion Stakes for California-bred 2-year-old fillies Wednesday at Del Mar.

Ridden by Edwin Maldonado, Sunday Rules ran six furlongs in a stakes-record time of 1:09.56, bettering the mark of 1:09.60 set by One More Angel in 1996. She paid $2.60, $2.20 and $2.10 as the 3-10 favorite.

Sunday Rules improved to 2 for 2 in her career.

Whatsallthedrama returned $3.60 and $2.40, while Moving Desert was another length in back and paid $2.40 to show.

Joe Talamo rode two winners on the card.
