DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. (AP) - Ozz Negri was only slow getting in and out of his race car.

Negri came back from a broken right leg to drive in the Rolex 24 at Daytona six days after the cast was removed. The injury was to the leg Negri uses for braking.

Negri spent about 50 minutes in the No. 60 Michael Shank Racing entry, the car he drives full-time in the Grand-Am Series. He broke a bone in his lower leg while training on a mountain bike last month, but rushed through the recovery process to return to Daytona and help Shank defend last year's victory.

He's unlikely to get back in the car unless needed.

Negri says he doesn't "want to overdo it and mess up the rest of the championship.''
