DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. (AP) - Chip Ganassi's chances to return to Victory Lane in the Rolex 24 at Daytona are down to one car after a mechanical failure ended the race for his "star car.''

Three-time Indianapolis 500 winner Dario Franchitti was driving the No. 02 BMW Riley when it stopped on the course at Daytona International Speedway. The car had to be towed back to the garage during a full course caution period, and the Ganassi mechanics determined it was not fixable.

At the same time, rival team owner Wayne Taylor accused Franchitti and the Ganassi team of intentionally bringing out the caution so that its dominant No. 01 car could change its brakes under yellow.

Franchitti bristled at the accusation, and angrily suggested Taylor worry only about his own team.
