NEWTON, Iowa (AP) - Ross Chastain took the pole Saturday night for the NASCAR Truck Series race Sunday at Iowa Speedway, edging Erik Jones for the top spot.

Chastain had a lap at 137.147 mph in the No. 19 Ford owned by Sprint Cup driver Brad Keselowski on the 0.875-mile oval for his first pole in 36 series races.

Jones was second at 137.052, followed by James Buescher, Brendan Gaughan, Ty Dillon, July track winner Timothy Peters, Chase Elliott, Jeb Burton and defending race winner Ryan Blaney.
