Chelsea falls to last-place Queens Park Rangers

LONDON (AP) - Shaun Wright-Phillips scored against his former club in the 78th minute to give last-place Queens Park Rangers a 1-0 victory over Chelsea on Wednesday in the west London derby.

QPR won for the first time in the top flight at Stamford Bridge since March 1979, ending Chelsea's four-game winning streak's in one of English Premier League's biggest upsets of the season.

Chelsea is fourth in the standings.

Everton moved two points behind Chelsea, beating Newcastle 2-1. Liverpool beat Sunderland 3-0 to move seven points behind Chelsea.

GLASGOW, Scotland (AP) - Gary Hooper scored his 17th goal of the season in the 79th minute and Celtic beat Motherwell 1-0 to open a nine-point lead in the Scottish Premier League.

Heading into the two-week winter break, Inverness and Motherwell are both nine points behind Celtic.
