LONDON (AP) -Jack Wilshere scored a sumptuous late goal to earn Arsenal a 1-0 victory over Swansea in an FA Cup replay on Wednesday, setting up a fourth-round match against second-tier Brighton.

Arsenal was rewarded for a flurry of second-half pressure when Olivier Giroud laid the ball off to the England midfielder, who lashed a fierce shot into the corner from outside the area in the 86th minute.

The London club, which hasn't won a major trophy since 2005, should have been out of sight by then, with Theo Walcott hitting the post and being denied on numerous other occasions.

Manchester United was also playing a fourth-round replay on Wednesday, at home to West Ham.
