ROME (AP) -Interpol Secretary General Ronald K. Noble says match-fixing revenues are comparable to that of Coca-Cola's.

Along with football governing bodies FIFA and UEFA, Interpol is leading a two-day conference on match-fixing in Rome, as Italy continues to deal with its own damaging case.

Noble says on Thursday illegal betting generates "hundreds of billions of euros per year.''

He adds, "With estimates that large, bookmakers have revenues on the same scale as a Coca-Cola company.''

FIFA Secretary General Jerome Valcke says the only way to combat it is from the bottom up, starting with the youngsters, and that "there is no chance we will change the system without education.''
