ZURICH (AP) - FIFA has provisionally suspended a Peru international for 30 days for failing a doping test after a World Cup qualifier.

The player, whose name was not revealed, tested positive for a prohibited substance after a match against Bolivia in La Paz on Oct. 12.

The world's governing body has opened disciplinary proceedings and says the player has until the end of Monday to inform FIFA whether he wants to request a hearing.

FIFA says it will release more details about the case, including the name of the player and the substances taken, "only after it has been determined in a hearing that an anti-doping violation has occurred.''
