COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) - The Columbus Crew has agreed to terms with defender/midfielder Agustin Viana.

The 29-year-old was added to the club's roster as a discovery signing.

A left-footed player capable of playing leftback or central midfield, Viana comes from Uruguayan Primera Division side Bella Vista. The American-born Viana started all 15 of Bella Vista's matches in 2012-13, scoring two goals. He has also played for teams in Greece, Italy, Romania and Brazil.

Viana holds dual citizenship in the United States and Uruguay and will not occupy an international roster slot. He is set to join the Crew immediately for preseason training in Bradenton, Fla. pending transfer approval.
