DURBAN, South Africa (AP) -South Africa has been boosted by the return to training of striker Lehlohonolo Majoro ahead of Saturday's African Cup of Nations quarterfinal against Mali.

However, defender Anele Ngcongca has been ruled out of the last-eight game in Durban after being suspended for two yellow cards.

The team says Majoro has recovered from a cut to his left shin in the Group A win over Angola that needed stitches and ruled him out against Morocco. He will train by himself until Thursday.

Coach Gordon Igesund also shrugged off the unavailability of Belgian-based right back Ngconcga, saying he was close to picking Siboniso Gaxa on the right of defense for the quarterfinal game anyway.

Igesund says "everything happens for a reason ... I think things were meant to happen this way.''
