SINSHEIM, Germany (AP) -Hoffenheim has signed Brazilian-born Belgium striker Igor de Camargo on loan till the end of the season from Bundesliga rival Borussia Moenchengladbach.

Hoffenheim general manager Andreas Mueller says the relegation-threatened club hopes De Camargo will bring "more impact in offense. I'm certain that he will play an important role for us with his class and experience.''

The 29-year-old De Camargo has played nine times for Belgium since gaining citizenship in 2009. He previously played for Belgian sides Genk, Beringen-Heusden-Zolder, FC Brussels and Standard Liege, before transferring to Moenchengladbach in 2010.

De Camargo is Hoffenheim's fifth signing during the January transfer window. The club is currently second from bottom in the Bundesliga.
