NYON, Switzerland (AP) -England and Serbia avoided each other when the qualifying groups were drawn for the 2015 European Under-21 Championship on Thursday.

A volatile match between the countries' Under-21 teams in October saw Serbia fans direct racist abuse at England players in Krusevac. Serbian players and coaches fought with the England team after it won and advanced to the 2013 European Under-21 tournament in Israel.

UEFA says it aims to hold an appeal hearing in late February to re-examine widespread sanctions arising from the match.

UEFA has reportedly considered expelling Serbia from the next edition of its under-21 tournament.

Still, Serbia was entered in Thursday's draw and joined a group with Italy, Belgium, Cyprus and Northern Ireland. England is in a six-team group that includes Wales and Finland.
